Updates

It's been a while since our last blog post ... I have to place the blame on Sienna's nap protest and the nice weather we've had.  It's a dangerous combination making us spend a lot of time outside!  Here is the rundown of what Lulu and I have been up to ...

... learning how to eat Cheerios!  Lulu loves them, especially the independent eating part.

... test driving Lulu's stroller in anticipation of our upcoming trip to Marseille for Aunt Solenne's wedding.

... meeting her French great grandmother, Mamie Alix.  (Lucky little girl has THREE great grandmothers!!)

... her great Aunt Monique and second cousins Josquin and Ninon, too.

... and hanging out in her upgraded high chair - Lulu is no longer sporting her paratrooping equipment while dining.

Happy Father's day!

Lulu celebrated father's day with her papa at the Carters Steam Fair in Eel Brook Common today ... however she fell asleep just as we approached the park and missed out on the festivities.  Instead of riding the merry-go-round together, Romain showed off his rifle shooting skills and won a stuffed animal for Lulu.  Maybe next year Lulu will get to enjoy the rides!

Happy Father's day to all the dads in our lives!

Where'd they go?

Grandma and Grandpa had to go home today and saying goodbye to them this morning was a painful reminder that we no longer live a short three hour drive apart.  Lulu, Romain, and I had a wonderful time with them this past week and already miss them terribly.  Only five months until we get to see them again and check out our new home in Cleveland.

Here are some photo highlights from their visit.

ps ... I forgot to wish one of our most loyal blog followers a happy birthday yesterday: joyeux anniversaire Solenne!!  See you in 19 days ...

Good company

Gram and Gramps are in town and Lulu is as happy as a clam.  Unfortunately the weather hasn't been great, but that hasn't stopped us from exploring west London.  Fortunately we still have several days ahead of us for the weather to improve and to continue to enjoy their company!

Happiness

Lulu loves her grandparents and gets very happy when you tell her they're coming to visit.  This was her reaction when she learned that all four were coming within two weeks of each other ...

She had a very fun time with Mamine and Papinou when they came to visit last week.

Now we're anxiously awaiting the arrival of Grandma and Grandpa tomorrow morning!  Hopefully they can cheer Lulu up after this afternoon's BCG vaccine.  That's something we're certainly not looking forward to!

And thanks to Em and Niko, Swiffers have been located and delivered to us, so cleaning up tomorrow morning should be that much easier.  Bon voyage, mom and dad.

Polo ponies

Today Lulu and I went to our first polo match in Hurlingham Park with Kelli.  The highlight of the event seemed to be the Veuve Clicquot tent but since Kelli is eight months pregnant we decided to skip it.

We only managed to stay for one chukkar (period of play), but it was nice to see what the sport is all about.

After being told all week that she would see horses today, Lulu couldn't keep her eyes open long enough to see them.  The heat of the day exhausted her and she fell asleep just as the players and their horses stepped onto the field.

June 1st

The sun was shining so bright this morning that it got me out of bed at 4am.  Luckily Lulu is still asleep letting that little brain of hers develop so that maybe one day she can become a doctor like her grandpa.

Today is a special day because it's dad and Bea's birthday.  Wishing you both a very happy birthday!!  Dad, we can't wait to see you in just 1 week.  And Bea, if it wasn't for your inspiration, this blog would never exist!  Miss you both.
