August 23
On August 23, 2008 Romain and I were married in Marseille ...
August 23, 2010 officially marked my last day of work at McKinsey before going on maternity leave.
Today, Romain and I will celebrate our anniversary and I will celebrate being fortunate enough to spend every day at home with our little Lulu.

Bikes!
Yesterday all of Fulham Road was closed for a 140 km long bike race - the London-Surrey Cycle Classic. The London 2012 Olympic cycling road race is planning to follow the same route, so this was a dress rehersal for next year.
Romain, Lulu and I caught a quick glimpse of the cyclists as they sped by. Pretty exciting to think that the olympic athletes will be spinning right through our hood next summer.

A bit of exploring
Our friend Lizzie was in town staying with us last week and we had a great time catching up! Since Lulu and I had a travel buddy, we managed to explore a bit of London together. We had hoped to visit the Borough market and London Eye, among other things, but wet weather and a stroller prevented us from being that adventerous.
We were able to re-visit Portobello Road, check out Harrod's jewelry and toy floors, and window shop along Hatton Garden. Harrod's toy floor is pretty impressive - overwhelming actually! And Hatton Garden is London's jewelery and diamond quarter, so while Lizzie did some market research for her jewelery design, Lulu and I admired all the beautiful things in the shops' windows.
Hope to see you again soon, Lizzie!!
