NYC

We had an eleven hour layover at JFK yesterday on our way back to London so we jumped in a cab and spent the better part of the day playing tourist in NYC.  It's crazy to believe that nine months have already past since we moved - though, while walking around the city Romain and I had the strangest feeling that we had never left.

First stop was to visit the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center (it's that time of year, plus it was too early for stores to be open), then we did some shopping through our old neighborhood, had lunch at Houstons, walked a bit more and then headed back to the airport to relax before our flight.

It feels nice to be back home, but Lulu and I miss grandma, grandpa and Em terribly.  Lulu is going to be in even more shock tomorrow when she's stuck at home with only me around.  Papa will be back at work so it's going to be a quiet day.  We're hopeful we can get back to Cleveland, and maybe NYC, early next year for another visit.

Hudson

Our last day in Ohio we made a trip to a special place - Hudson, where Em and I grew up.  It was nice to finally show Romain where we lived and where so many childhood memories were made.  The town has significantly changed, though it still made Em and me miss where we called home for 15 years.

We took Lulu to the playground where Em and I would spend our summers.  She really enjoyed the swings and the big slides!

Then we took a stroll through the campus of our alma mater, Western Reserve Academy.  A lot has changed in Hudson, and on WRA's campus, however the Chapel has remained the same and brought back fond memories from our high school years.  Who knows, when the time comes maybe Lulu will want to go to high school in NE Ohio ...

Lulu's lemon

Catching up with old friends

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the Ciunis yesterday.  It had been a decade or more since Em, Caroline, Mike and I had been together for the holidays.  These past two weeks have been a real treat allowing us to catch up with old friends.

Lulu finally met her friend Gio and they had a fun time running around the apartment, having their first taste of a Thanksgiving feast, and playing in the bathtub together before bed.

Happy Turkey Day!

Lulu and I have a lot to be thankful for - we're especially thankful to be able to spend Thanksgiving with my family this year (though we miss you, Niko and Grandma!).  Wishing everyone a happy turkey day with plenty of good food and even better company!

This is Lulu's second Thanksgiving ... can you believe how much she's grown in just one year?

Happy day

Guess who came to see us yesterday??  The Elliots!  We had a great day catching up with them, and Lulu even sat down with Aunt Bea to read a book - a rare occasion!  Hope to see you all again soon!!  xoxo

Lazy day

The weatherman predicted snow showers today, instead we have a chilly breeze making the autumn leaves whirl around.  Maybe tomorrow we'll take Lulu out to frolic in the crunchy leaves.  In the meantime we've been inside running around the house with Grandma and Grandpa.  Only two more days before Papa and Auntie Em arrive!  And three more days before Aunt Bea arrives, hoorray!

O - H - I - O

We made it to the Buckeye State Saturday evening and we're having a ball with Grandma and Grandpa.  There are lots of places to see and people to visit while we're here.  Yesterday we even made it to the zoo!  Lulu had a great time looking at all the animals with Grandma and Grandpa, here are some photos.

Motherland

Lulu and I are making the trip home to the US tomorrow to start our Thanksgiving holiday and we cannot begin to tell you how excited we are!!  We haven't been home since we first moved to London back in February - I haven't been in Northeast Ohio since 2000 - and that's way too long in my book.  Lulu can't wait to step foot back on her motherland and see grandma, grandpa, auntie Em, and aunt Bea.  And I can't wait to show Romain my old stomping ground.

See you sooooon!!
